I forgot one detail...

A few of you have asked "When it the baby due?" I forgot to put that little detail in the post. My official due date is July 3rd. I'm hoping more for the end of June. :)

My poor kiddo can't see...

Ok, so I had NO idea it would be this bad. R-man and I took a trip to the eye dr. today. After a month or so of squinting, standing WAY too close to the TV, and he trying on my old glasses and saying "Wow, Mom! I can see so much better!" I decided to take him in. Boy, am I glad I did. His eyes are so much worse than mine. And at such a young age...it makes me worry. His eyes look healthy and good, he is just extremely near-sighted. I am glad we caught it early. So now he will be wearing stylin' new glasses. They will be here in about a week. I'll be sure to post a pic or two of him in his new specs.
And now I'll get on with the rest of my "Feeling Like a Bad Mom" day... I should have taken him in sooner. Now I'll know what to watch for with the rest of the bunch.

It's a...

GIRL!!! We are so excited to be having another baby girl. That makes 2 and 2 for us. We feel blessed and just truly thankful that she looks healthy and everything seems to be going well.
Here are the kids reactions:
R-man: "Ok." Not much excitement there. He was a little bummed. He gets annoyed with Miss A, so he's assuming another sister will be another pain. I explained to him that with another sister, Miss A will have someone else to play with, so she won't bug him as much. "That's true..." he said.

Miss A: Looking at the ultrasound pics, I said "Do you think that's a boy bum or a girl bum?" She said "boy". I said nope...that's not a boy bum. And she looked up with huge eyes and a grin and said "A girl?" She was so excited. She grabbed me around my neck and hugged me, then gave me a kiss, and then ran over to M and grabbed and hugged him. She is thrilled...

T-bug: After looking at the ultrasound pics, he ran around the house yelling "Yeah...no wee-wee! No wee-wee! Yay!" He's all boy, that kid. He is excited, too. I asked how he felt about having a baby sister, and he said "Excited!"

We are so blessed to have such amazing kids. I love them more than words can say. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me 4 times over.

Happy 10th Anniversary, hon!

I love this guy. That is why I've been married to him for 10 years. He makes me laugh (and yes, he sometimes makes me roll my eyes). He makes me feel like I'm a great wife and mom (even though most days I make myself feel like the worst). He loves me even when I'm grumpy, which has been way too often. He is the best dad. The best husband. The best son. I feel lucky. I feel blessed to be his wife. To spend this eternal journey with him. This year has been our toughest and our best. May the next 10 be even better. And hopefully not quite as hard. :) Love you, honey. Happy 10.

Life Update...

I have wanted to do a blog post, but there really hasn't been too much going on around here. I don't have any great pics to post, no funny stories to tell. Just the regular every day stuff. R went back on track, so he is back in school. I think he and I are both happier for it. There is less fighting and crying throughout the day, that's for sure. He was just so bored, and his little bro and sis do make him a little crazy from time to time, so being apart for some time each day is a good thing for everyone. A and T had a fun preschool field trip to the movie theater today. They got to see the projection room, see how the machine works that shoots the movie onto the screen, and even got to have popcorn and root beer while they watched some movie trailers. Lucky kids. :)
M has had a lot more time at home these days. He was released from the bishopric (if you are not LDS and have no clue what I'm talking about, read here: http://www.mormonwiki.com/Bishopric ) a few weeks ago, and now doesn't have any week night meetings, and is home all day on Sunday. It is taking some adjustment on my part to have him home all the time, but it's great. I am thankful for a bishop who felt prompted to give us a bit of a break before M starts his work on his EMBA and we have a new baby.
Speaking of baby, things are moving along. I have my ultrasound next Thursday (I'll be almost 19 weeks) and I am anxious for that. I always get a little nervous, worrying and wondering if the baby is healthy and growing well. It will be great to see the little one. I always love ultrasounds. With A and T, I had one every time I went in...so every 4 weeks. Definitely a bonus. And no, I do NOT wish I were having twins again so that I could have an ultrasound every time. ;)
That's about it for now. Hopefully soon I'll have a new kitchen floor to post about!! And we'll definitely have new shelves in the storage room. M is in the process of building those now. Maybe I'll run down and take some pictures.

"MOM, why is the bathroom floor wet?"

"I have no idea" was my reply.

Then Miss A said, "Oh, that's because I had to pee really, really bad...and I was scooting my bum back, but I started to pee and just a tiny, tiny bit got on the floor."

"SICK. YOU MEAN I STEPPED IN ANNA'S PEE?"

"Yep, I guess you did!" (hehehehehehe)

R-man then quickly climbed on the counter so he could scrub the life out of his feet. Hot water and soap. And lots of it. And I mopped up the floor. Thankfully my hubby cleaned that bathroom yesterday, moved the rug around the toilet, but didn't mop the floor yet. He must have known there would be reason to mop it again today.

And I laughed. I am still laughing. Oh, the joys of children.

Christmas festivities

Our Christmas fun started with my family Christmas party on the 13th. My mom 'canned' gifts for each of the kids, so I had fun opening all the cans. The kids thought it was pretty funny. We played a gag gift game, and my dad got this HUGE pair of undies. He of course had to put them on to model for us. He is a nut...

Christmas morning started about 7 AM for us. We didn't get a whole lot of great pics, but the kids had fun and were so excited to finally have a Wii.
We had our family Christmas party with M's family the day after Christmas. We always do it the day after, and it's great. It is always a fun, relaxed day, with no where else to go. And it extends our Christmas one more day...
The A Grandkids
My sis-in-law opened this sweatshirt. And she was wearing it, too. So funny...I guess my Mom-in-Law has good taste!

Aunt L playing Barbie with Miss A

Z-man checking out his new Trio's...with Uncle R looking on.

The boys waiting patiently for their turn...we start with the youngest kid and go up from there.

They guys were playing 4-man chess. I love this pic, with all the faces in the hands...looking frustrated. Or maybe just strategizing???
And then this one, Uncle R and R-man have the same expression on their faces.
Cutie-pie C-man opening a gift

C-man and Uncle D reading a story
LOVE this picture, C-man looking at T-bug's new toy, with admiration. And Aunt L (C-man's mom) with that funny, amused expression on her face.
Miss K and Miss A playing Barbies.

Such a cutie...Little Miss S didn't have those two bonks on her head when she got to Grandma's. She is learning to walk, and her forehead is proof.

Miss S and Miss A...both blue-eyed girls.

T-bug was excited about his new Legos.
Cute R-man, excited to get a new keyboard from Grandma and Grandpa.
Z-man...this kid takes the cutest pictures.
Great Grandma K. She is the sweetest. I am so thankful she came for the party.

And this has nothing to do with the Christmas parties, but these are my new favorite things. Didn't ever think I would love anything that had to do with laundry...
And I just had to post this pic of T-bug. I love it. He was getting in the way of the camera when I was trying to take a pic of M. He is such a stinker, and a cute one at that!
Happy New Year...may it be a safe, healthy one!
